Entry Point 2100 Series VBG

 

The 2100 Series provides a wide-area network (WAN) interface to a customer's premise, as well as provisions for remote premise power via Power over Ethernet (PoE).

 

The 2100 Series can be powered using several methods; 1) Directly from the the telephone company via Express Power, or 2) from the customers premise using a standard 12v power supply. In Addition, the all 2100 Series iNIDs can be fitted with a UPS (uninterrupted Power Supply).

 

The 2100 Series iNID leverages the telephone companies existing ATM DSL infrastructure. This model forwards packets between QoS (Quality of Service) provisioned ATM PVCs and the Ethernet LAN ports at the customer premise.

 

The telephone company remotely manages the 2100 iNID which can be configured to provide multiple SLA (Service Level Agreement) Grade services at a single physical location. The VBG is designed to Look like a wire and is the main point of interface between the customer's networks and the carrier's network.
